Move over Barney! Step aside Tickle Me Elmo! Emmett has a new hero…Julia Child.
After taking me to see Julie and Julia, I told Tony I wanted a copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking for Christmas. Instead of the book, he bought me a six-part Julia Child DVD series called How to Cook. Each show is an hour long and covers a specific topic…poultry, soups, fish, salads & breads, dessert. Emmett discovered them, and now he is hooked!
“I want to watch the cooking lady again.” He begs. “I want to watch her flip the chicken upside-down… then she will chop the head off a fish! But first, she sniffs it (sniff sniff)…it’s fresh! Mommy are you fresh?”
For his birthday, Emmett says he wants a food mill…and a giant strainer…and a cleaver.
Awww! What a cutie! The good news is if he keeps this up…you will have a nice self-sufficient teen in about….ummm….13 years!
That is so funny! I’m reading her book, “My Life in France”. Perhaps Emmett will be like his Dad.
Look out Tony, Chef Emmett is brewing up chicken stew and is in the run for your spot in the kitchen. Look out Embraceable Ewe!
